Welcome to Delaware County’s
largest outdoor event of the year --
Riverfront Ramble 2009!
Saturday, September 19th, Noon to
10pm.
This year the Ramble is featuring
BLACKBEARD’S PIRATE FESTIVAL with 5
Pirate Crews from all over the East Coast
doing Living History Encampments, a
children’s “School for Scallywags”,
demonstrations of pirate skills and you can
even tour Blackbeard’s reputed hideaway (The
Plank House) in Marcus Hook! The 19th is
also international “Talk like a Pirate”
Day…and our festival is largest pirate
celebration on the East Coast!
“Ramblers” will also enjoy a full day of
river-rides, food, crafts, free concerts,
car shows, kid’s games, fishing contests,
treasure hunts, exotic animal shows, and
pony rides. Plus see great performers like
Skip Martin, formerly of KOOL & THE GANG
who will be headlining at Chester’s Wharf at
Rivertown. Top acts will also be performing
at other locations including The
John Cassidy Magic Show at Ridley
Marina (1:30-2:15pm) – Gene Vincent
and the Cadillac Cruisers at Marcus
Hook – and Flashback at
Tincium. At 8:45 there will be a spectacular
fireworks show over the Delaware River at
Chester. The show will be followed by a
performance by local band, 4 Deep.
